The Visual Arts Commission is dedicated to developing the visual arts, empowering and encouraging practitioners to produce and present rich content that not only strengthens the visual arts sector but also positions the Kingdom as a pioneer in this art form. The Commission aims to achieve these goals by launching programs and initiatives that provide the necessary infrastructure for a sustainable and thriving visual arts industry; partnering with relevant stakeholders to create a wide range of local and global opportunities for Saudi talent; and establishing a vibrant and popular platform for all artists and artistic groups. The Commission further seeks to collaborate, produce, innovate, and offer diverse activities and artworks that positively transform the perception of visual arts, nationally and internationally.
Visual arts have played a crucial role in shaping Saudi culture, encompassing various art forms that serve both aesthetic and intellectual purposes. They are evaluated for their beauty and tangible and intangible value across numerous formats, including fine arts, drawing, photography, art installations, sculptures, calligraphy, video and digital arts, and multimedia arts. These art forms celebrate authenticity, creativity, and diversity in practices, thoughts, ideas, and contemporary issues.
